2020 Nissan Rogue Near Lowell

It's going to be another great year for the Rogue, Nissan's midsized crossover that slots between the subcompact Kicks and the larger Murano. The gasoline-only Rogue returns for 2020 without its hybrid counterpart, which isn't being offered this time around. This practical and affordable vehicle offers a sought-after blend of generous cargo space, excellent standard technology features, and exceptional fuel economy. This has been a winning formula for the Japanese automaker, which introduced the model in 2007.

Trim Levels and Standard Equipment

The three trim grades of the 2020 Rogue offer enough variety for buyers with different budgets to get the features they want most without breaking the bank. The base trim, the S, has some amenities that aren't commonly found on the lowest-priced version of the Rogue's competitors. These features include both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual USB ports, satellite radio automatic headlights, LED taillights, some active safety technology (auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane intervention technology, blind-spot warning system, and rear cross-traffic alert), and a tire pressure monitoring system with individual tire readings. You can also opt for heated exterior mirrors, roof rails, heated front seats, and leather wrapping for the steering wheel and shifter knob.

The SV makes all of the base options standard equipment and adds a hand-activated power liftgate, two-zone auto climate control, push-to-start ignition, remote start, a power driver's seat, and two more active safety features: rear parking sensors and rear automatic braking. The available options on this trim range from a heated steering wheel to a panoramic moonroof, as well as Nissan's proprietary driver-assist suite, ProPilot Assist, and a surround-view monitor. Its information/entertainment options include an upgraded Bose audio system with nine speakers, an integrated navigation system, and voice recognition functionality.

The top-of-the-line SL is loaded with all of the items that are optional on the SV with the exception of the sunroof (which remains optional). It also gets leather seating surfaces, 19-inch alloy wheels, power functions for the passenger seat, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Its two options are the panoramic sunroof and LED headlights.

Powertrain and Utility

Every version of the 2020 Rogue has a 170 horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and efficient CVT (continuously variable transmission) under its hood. Fuel economy is a desirable 26 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. This attractive crossover may look small on the outside, but it offers a generous 70 cubic feet of interior cargo space (and nearly 40 cu. ft. when the back seat is being used). As an added measure of security, Nissan's clever Drive-N-Hide hidden storage area conceals valuables in a secret compartment under the floor. Available roof rails make it possible to haul items on the top of the vehicle, and it's even possible to pull a light trailer, thanks to a towing capacity of up to 1,100 pounds.
